Biopsy &
Genetic Profiling

Accurate Diagnosis. Personalised Treatment.
At Thangam Cancer Center, every cancer journey begins with clarity. A biopsy is one of the most important diagnostic procedures used to confirm the presence of cancer and understand its characteristics. It’s a simple yet vital step that provides deep insight into what kind of cancer is present, how aggressive it is, and how best it can be treated.
Molecular & Genetic Profiling
Understand Your Cancer. Target It Precisely.
At Thangam Cancer Center, we believe knowledge is power — especially when it comes to fighting cancer. Our precision oncology approach uses advanced molecular and genetic profiling to uncover the unique biological signature of your tumor. This insight helps us select therapies that directly target the specific mutations and pathways driving your cancer — making treatment smarter, faster, and more effective.

What We Offer
Tumor Tissue Analysis
Comprehensive testing of tumor samples to identify critical gene and protein alterations that guide targeted treatment.
Liquid Biopsy
Non-invasive blood tests that detect circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), allowing for early detection and continuous monitoring.
Bioinformatics-Driven Insight
Advanced data interpretation tools turn complex molecular findings into clear treatment decisions.
Real-Time Tumor Tracking
Monitor changes in the tumor’s genetic behavior during therapy to refine and adapt treatment strategies as needed.
By understanding cancer at the molecular level, we deliver personalized care that’s designed around your biology — not just your diagnosis.
Types of Biopsies Performed at Thangam
We offer a range of advanced biopsy techniques tailored to each patient’s condition and the area being investigated:
A thin needle is used to extract cells or fluid from a lump or suspicious area.
A larger needle collects a small cylinder of tissue, offering more detailed analysis than FNA
Performed under CT, MRI, or ultrasound guidance to accurately target deeper tissues or organs.
The entire lump or suspicious area is surgically removed for examination.
A portion of the lump or tissue is removed for testing.
Endoscopic Biopsy: Used for internal organs; performed via a thin tube with a camera (endoscope) inserted through the mouth or other body openings.
Typically used for skin lesions, where a small circular piece of skin is removed.
Essential for diagnosing blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, or multiple myeloma. A sample is taken from the hipbone under local anesthesia.
Each biopsy is conducted with precision, care, and patient comfort in mind — ensuring accurate diagnosis with minimal discomfort.
