Radiation oncology

Radiation therapy uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer and Thangam Hospital is a dedicated Cancer Care Center and the first to set up an advanced Radiation Therapy unit in Namakkal to treat various types of cancers.

The department is equipped with High Energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC) with Photons and Electrons along with FFF capability able to provide highly advanced and sophisticated radiation treatments ensuring the best results with minimal effects.

The Department has a 24-Channel High Dose Rate (HDR) Gamma-Med PlusTM Brachytherapy machine which has the capacity to provide treatment for Cervix, Breast, Sarcoma and Prostate Cancers quickly.

Our Oncology Department comprises doctors, radiation safety officers, medical physicists and radiotherapy technologists to provide good patient-centric care.
